Safe Drinking Water Act

Drinking Water Quality

The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) regulates the quality of drinking water delivered by cities, towns and municipalities. It also regulates community water systems including housing complexes, schools and transient water systems serving more than 25 people. The SDWA requires the use of analytical methods which have very prescriptive quality control requirements. Alpha Analytical performs the following methods on-site in support of these regulations:

  • Volatile Organics by EPA Method 524.2
  • Trihalomethanes by EPA Method 524.2
  • EDB & DBCP by EPA Method 504.1
  • Haloacetic Acids by SM6251B
  • Inorganic Contaminants (IOCs)
  • Trace Metals by EPA Methods 200.7, 200.8 and 245.1
  • Secondary Contaminants

  • Water Quality Indicator Parameters

What Our Clients Are Saying

“One Sunday afternoon I received a request to sample due to a release. I contacted Dave Boring to discuss our needs and timing. We reconvened 15 minutes later with the logistics and how we would get the bottle ware and get the samples back to Alpha on Sunday. I can always count on Dave to work through any issue. ”
